Maine RoadSide Attractions

Famous Road Sign
(para-phrased from Yankee Magazine)
What would a trip to Maine be, without a stop and picture at the Lynchville Road Sign? Actually Lynchville as a town is hard to find,as it covers an area only large enough to fit the sign. But, there at the junction of Rts 5 and 35 you are only 14 miles from Norway, 25 miles from Sweden, 37 Miles from Mexico, and 15 miles from Paris.
These are all towns in Maine of course.
While there, stop at Tut's General Store in nearby Waterford.
There you can ask for directions (you can't get they-ah from hey-ah),
find out which road goes to Naples (don't go no whey-ah, stays right where 'tis),
catch-up on the local gossip, and have a good meal.

Maine's Oldest Lighthouse
(para-phrased from Yankee Magazine)
The Portland Head Light was commissioned in 1791 by order of President George Washington. Over 200 Casco Bay islands can be seen from it's hurricane deck, and the keepers house is now a lighthouse museum. Located at Fort Williams Park, 1000 Shore Rd. it can be visited June to October. 207.799.2661.
