Vermont RoadSide Attractions

The Original Web Site
(para-phrased from Yankee Magazine)
The web site of Will and Terry Knight, is located on Rt 14 in Williamstown. But this web site has REAL webs. The Knights 'harvest' their spiders-webs daily, from window-pane style racks. They are then adhered to a wooden frame and sold as 'art', limited edition art as a fact. They are open mid-June to mid-October, at the 'web-site' of 124 Spider Web farm Road. 802.433.5568.

Rare Floating Bridge
(para-phrased from Yankee Magazine)
While it's not as long as the Lake Pontchartrain Bridge in Louisiana, this bridge in Brookfield has another distinction, it's floating. Since 1820, the Sunset Lake bridge has been maintianed by the residents to provide a path across the lake, starting with floating logs, then tarred kerosene barrels, now to plastic barrels filled with styrofoam. We're not sure if we'd want to take out 'cycles across it, but it will support auto traffic, with just an occasional wet white-wall. Near Rt 65, call the Chamber of Commerce for info at, 802.728.9027.

Lake Monster
(para-phrased from Yankee Magazine, and from 'Champ' website)
'Champ', that's the name given the Lake Champlain monster. First sited around 1609, 'Champ' has been sighted more than 600 times since. He (she) even has a website, dedicated to reports and finding of this elusive lizard. Some reserchers feel this could be home to a colony of Tanystropheus, a lizard-like Triassic dinosaur. Check out the Lake yourself when you're in the area, but until then go to the website http://together.net/~ultisrch/ and see for yourself.
